TOURISM IN NEPAL

Tourism is the largest industry in Nepal. The largest source of foreign exchange and revenue are obtained from the Nepal tourism board. The Hindu and Buddhist heritage of Nepal and its cold weather are also strong attractions. Tourism is travel for recreational, leisure or business purposes.
Nepal is well known for country of the Mt.Everest, the highest peak of the world and famous destination for adventure tourism of Nepal and it also show the cultural heritage religious and living standard of the people of the country Nepal. Nepal is also known as birth place of Buddha which attract the tourist in Nepal and also show the destination in the world tourism map with a distinct image in national tourism board in 2009. These qualities made Nepal a unique place giving high potentialities for the growth of tourism industry. So far, the pace of tourism industry development could not be considered promising from the perspective of economic development. The Nepal Tourism Vision 2020 has been issued from the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MOTCA) with the collaboration of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and concerned industries targeting to attract two millions of tourist by 2020. Though shares of tourists arriving from North America, Central and South America, Asia, Australia and Pacific have declined in comparison to the figure during the same period in the preceding year, the tourist arrivals from Africa and other countries have increased. The Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal is known as a unique natural and cultural destination in the Tourism map of the world. The outstanding diversities of nature and culture existing here are second to none. The most exhilarating titles with which Nepal has been admired and praised by various renowned travel authors in recognition of her cultural richness, viz., Living cultural Museum, Shangri-la, Roof of the World, Birth place of the Apostle of Peace, Country of Living Goddess, City of Golden Pagodas & Parasols.
